Since inception in 2012, CF24 has donated over $900,000 million to Special Olympics Canada Foundation thanks to community leaders and local gyms from coast to coast. This funding provides opportunities for Canadians with intellectual disabilities to experience the transformative power of sport by registering for local Special Olympics programs. Special Olympics programs offer recreational and competitive sport opportunities at the local, provincial, national and international levels.
All funds raised at CF24 for Special Olympics events are donated to Special Olympics Canada Foundation. We believe in supporting national initiatives that drive the Special Olympics movement forward, in addition to funding local community programs. Our funding model is as follows:
- 70% of funds raised are directed to the Special Olympics provincial chapters where the funds were raised
- 30% of funds raised remain with Special Olympics Canada Foundation to support areas of greatest need
